3D pop art

Description: Students worked in pairs and randomly selected slips of paper that assigned them a location and two objects. Using these prompts, partners collaborated to draw and color a scene that included the given location and objects. After completing the drawing, students used construction paper to carefully cut, fold, and attach parts of their artwork so the objects would pop out from the background.

Extension Activity:  Students will write a short reflection describing how they worked together as partners and how they decided what parts of the artwork should pop out. They will also describe the artwork they have made together as a class. Then the students will write an exit ticket explain what makes something pop out or look 3D?
